Teen Killed
Alabama State Troopers ar investigating a single-vehicle accident that killed a teenager on Windsor Road. Coroner Marlon Killinon pronounced Jamie Blair, 13, of Oneonta Cut-off Road, dead at the scene of the 9:15 a.m. accident.
Trooper Chuck Ellis said Blair was a passenger sitting in the front seat of a
2001 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Tyler Harvey, 17, of Moman Road.
According to Ellis' preliminary investigation, it appears excessive speed might have been a factor in the accident.
Ellis said it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle and eventually struck a large pine tree.
A third passenger, Lee Turner,14, of Oneonta Cutoff Rd, was in the backseat of the vehicle.
Ellis said Turner and Harvey were transported to Marshall Center North, where a hospital spokes-woman said they were treated and released.
all three lived within three miles of the accident scene. Ellis said.
