Teen Killed

Alabama State Troopers ar investigating a single-vehicle accident that killed a teenager on Windsor Road. Coroner Marlon Killinon pronounced Jamie Blair, 13, of Oneonta Cut-off Road, dead at the scene of the 9:15 a.m. accident.

Trooper Chuck Ellis said Blair was a passenger sitting in the front seat of a

2001 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Tyler Harvey, 17, of Moman Road.

According to Ellis' preliminary investigation, it appears excessive speed might have been a factor in the accident.

Ellis said it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle and eventually struck a large pine tree.

A third passenger, Lee Turner,14, of Oneonta Cutoff Rd, was in the backseat of the vehicle.

Ellis said Turner and Harvey were transported to Marshall Center North, where a hospital spokes-woman said they were treated and released.

all three lived within three miles of the accident scene. Ellis said.

the news reads today a headline  (NEARLY YEAR AFTER WRECK HOMICIDE CHARGED TO TEEN )

He was behind the wheel in a car wreck that killed his 13-year-old passenger last July 28th . Now nearly a year later, a charge of Criminally Negligent Homicide has been placed against Tyler Nathaniel Harvey, 18, of 250 Moman Road, Albertville.

He was booked into the county jail Sunday after State Trooper Jonathan Gregg took a warrant against him. He is being charged as an adult. The charge is a misdemeanor and his bond was set at $3,000.00.

13-Year-old Jamie Blair and his cousin Lee Turner had gone to Tyler's house that day last summer to get help in working on a skateboard. the boys had started walking back home when Tyler picked them up in his 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier.  there were reports right after the Accident that Tyler had driven very fast and was trying to scare the boys. He lost control in a curve and the car left the roadway and struck a bunch of trees. the brunt of the impact was on the passenger side, where Jamie was riding . The wreck happened on Windsor Road off Oneonta cutoff rd. in the Lattiwood commumity , where the boys all lived.

Jamie would have been a 7th grader at Douglas Middle School and had planned to play football. He loved 4-wheelers, motocycles and fishing. he was the son of Marsha Crawford of Lattiwood and Tim Blair of Guntersville.
